Cleric Build Empty
PostSubject: Cleric Build   Cleric Build EmptySat Oct 01, 2011 10:20 pm

A cleric is a healing and support character for the most part. They have a few attacking skills, but are mostly party for support.

Attribute Points:

MAG - This is your main stat, it should be the highest.

STR - This is your secondary stat, you need 0.5 STR per level to equip your Wand/Sword/Glaive

VIT - This increases your HP recovery rate, keep it as low as possible if not left alone. I recommend a base of 10-20 if you're unfunded.

DEX - This stat is almost completely useless to you. If you choose to go light armor, you put some into it.

Builds:

Pure Mag: This is the best build if you're funded and want high damage and high heal. If you get extra Str from equips other than your weapon, you can put into Mag instead to add more damage.

9 Mag 1 Str every two levels

Hybrid: This is probably the most common build. Most with this build cap their Vit at anywhere from 10-30, but the lower the better unless you die a lot.

6 Mag 1 Str 3 Vit every two levels

Light Armor: This is sacrificing damage for defense instead of adding Vit (HP) in normal builds. I would assume they will cap their Str and Dex somewhere.

6 Mag 2 Str 2 Dex every two levels

Skills:

Healing Tree

Blessing of the Purehearted - Your first healing skill, it's left at level 1 because it's not very useful past early game.

Ironheart Blessing - This is your main healing skill, it stacks on itself, very effective. Max this as early as you can.

Wellspring Surge - Your third healing skill, nice, but again it's not good past the early game.

Revive - Amazing skill, revives a dead party member. Max as early as possible.

Purify - Removes negative effects on a target. One point in it right away, and then slowly max it as you have extra points.

Chromatic Healing Beam - Your only party healing skill, max it as soon as possible.

Stream of Rejuvenation - Good skill, but high cost. Heals a lot at once and has healing over time. One in this is enough until you have extra points to spare.

Regeneration Aura - Reduces damage by 50% and heals you and any party member within range. Get this right away at 59.

Buffing Tree

Vanguard Spirit - Very important, adds to a target's physical defense.

Magic Shell - Important, adds to a target's magical defense.

Celestial Guardian - Increases HP and MP regen. One point, then add when you have extra points.

Spirit's Gift - Extremely important, adds to a target's magic attack. This makes you kill so much faster

Greater Protective Aura - Adds to the party's physical defense, saves mana when in a party.

Aegis Spirit - Adds to the party's magical defense, saves mana when in a party.

Exalted Renewal - Increases the party's HP and MP regen. Again saves mana when in a party.

Arcane Empowerment - Increases the party's magic attack.

Damage Tree

Plume Shot - Your main attack for a long time, max it.

Plume Shell - Absorbs Physical damage, must have for later long. Max it by mid 60s.

Razor Feathers - Your first AoE attack, not very important until later on.

Elemental Seal - Not recommended until around 60s.

Dimensional Seal - Not recommended until around 60s.

Silence Seal - Not recommended until around 60s.

Chromatic Seal - Not recommended until around 60s.

Metal Damage Tree

Great Cyclone - This is your main attack, it slows down enemies. Max asap.

Thunderball - Damage over Time attack, not very useful.

Siren's Kiss - AoE attack, not bad. Not worth many points until much later on.

Wield Thunder - Long cast time, good damage. Not worth points so early.

Tempest - Hardest hitting spell, don't level it early. One point is enough for a long time.

Grinding

As you get into the mid 30s, quests don't give as much exp as they used to.

Is the skill point limited like maple? Or is it unlimited like Vindictus?

Btw Mel Mel, are you adding any points to VIT? I find it unnecessary as I barely lose any hp.. I kill mobs faster than they get to me..

Well, from what I've seen, you seem to get unlimited skill points or so.. You get skill points everytime u kill mobs, done with quests, level up? I think.. So, just max the skills that you can as of now (not much at lower levels anyways)..

You also need money to learn/upgrade your skills..

I don't know if you guys have different quests than me.. I'm in tideborn race (psychic, assasin) and there's this stupid jump quest that I can't seem to do it.. Gotta jump to the top of a ship and retrieve a bag or something like that.. I don't know if it's required to do all quests cause the only way I get armors and weapons are through quests (unless Mel tells me how to craft/hunt items)..

And teach me how to party with people cause I pretty much solo everything ;o
Not that it is hard for my class, I never use pots either way..

Level 10 Psychic (ign: Chezelle)

What to add to skills is limited early on, but after about lv40 ish it's pretty much just limited to how many coins you have.

I capped my VIT at 10 on my cleric, from people I've talked to the extra VIT is only necessary in the beginning and later on you can buy/make/get drops from monsters which have VIT or HP on them, same for STR. All mage classes are the same, STR to wear weapon, rest in Mag. Unless you want to put some in VIT, if you can't live well do this, you can always reset it later and I believe that you can buy AP resets with Coins instead of Gold if necessary.

All classes start out near their respective towns, but about level 20 they end up doing the same quests in and around Archosaur, I believe the name is.

The jump quest is difficult, but it's not necessary and all classes get a flying mount at lv30, presumably from a quest.

There are shop people around, Merchant xxxx is your best friend as well ask Banker xxxx, different names in each town. Merchants repair your equips, which are necessary because if they break... you're screwed. You store your money and items with Bankers, I believe like 12 item spaces.

F = your friend's list, unfortunately there is no friend chat but you can whisper by /ign xxxx, must put in ign each time. To make a party you right click on someone and invite to squad, can also invite from friend's list.

Hopefully this answers your questions
And sorry Jane, some stuff has come up and I probably won't be on much. But I will try. D:

I left my VIT at 8.. I think 8 is included the buff already.. I never die honestly.. I can't find banker xxxx in City of Raging Tides (nearest city from Dragonfang).. aaaand since I'm too dumb to use teleporter in Dragonfang, I end up swimming to the city..

Cause I hate Nexon..

Well seriously, MapleStory has better content and playstyle than PWI.. But the company who manage MS (Nexon) sucks.. So far in PWI, I only got d/ced once just right before I got my first advancement.. Idk why, might be internet connection drops or something..

Also, Nexon needs to bring back my Evie.. I'm not gonna play Vindictus until Nexon fix their dam server.. This is ridiculous, I've been waiting for almost 1 week and my character still locked out in the game.. Not to mention, Nexon HAS NOT find out the solution to fix yet..

Wizet/Nexon was fine until hacker domination in 2006. Then they fixed that and ruined the game with 2x EXP cards.

What are you talking about David? You don't even play anymore either, so you shouldn't be talking. =P

Also there aren't many bosses in maple anymore, not at high levels and they fucked over HT and CWK... not much left to do. Hackers rule the game, just today NeoSiIent smegaed that he was selling Empress equips... of which he hacked. Obviously.

tldr; Nexon doesn't fix its problems and hackers rule the game.
