Frostcovered City [FC] Guide 600px-FCC

1. You need a squad of two or more people, and a squad leader of level 85 or higher to open. All other squad members must be level 75 or higher, but only the leader needs to be in the instance. Talk to the NPC Lin Yan in beginning of the instance to open the first gate.

You best have a full squad with at least 1 cleric, a tank (barb or strong BM)and good DDs. If you have a good strong squad, the run takes about 2.5 hours. Many bosses can AoE, some have problems there. Level 85+ or, if squishy build, 90+ is advised.

Level 85+: Take the quest at the beginning of the instance from Lin Yan, you can get it every time you enter. You need to finish this quest to get the quest item 'Faithfulness'.

You have to kill the Glacial Shades to open a gate, if you go through all opened doors you will do all in the right order. Bosses open doors too, so there is no skipping bosses in here.

2. Thunderclaw: This boss summons traps, typically 3 spot where players are at. You have to run around a lot. Herc can tank, but be sure to call him back every time a trap forms around him. Don't stay in the traps, they deal massive damage on you, barb can remain in one spot to tank. Move away once one forms around you.

3. First talk to Holan, he will give you a quest. Kill as many Elementos as you can (seriouslly, kill all if you can). You have 30 seconds to kill each one of them before a new one respawn with a full hp, be sure to focus fire one at a time. After 30 seconds the mobs disappear. If all are gone the boss Diabolic Shocktrooper wakes. He random seals like the genie skill Occult Ice and sleeps. When you have the seal bubble around you, you get some bad damage. Clerics need to purify. After you kill him two Frost Bishops spawn, with foxes around them. These are easy enough to avoid drawing aggro from; alternatively 1 person grab aggro, cleric team heals, rest of the team focus on getting the Frost Bishops killed asap. The Frost Bishops AoE interrupt and damage.

4. Level 85+: In a small room the NPC Shiner Nin appears, all talk to her, kill Cyclotra Styren and Glacix Dragoon that spawn and report. The dragon AoE stuns. It respawns a while after it's killed. Cyclotra Styren does AoE. This quest will give you the quest item 'Faithfulness'.

5. Dreadindra: He calls up Frost Bishops, random aggros and does purge debuff then. Barb/herc tank boss try to keep him on you, rest kill Frost Bishops as soon they appear and DD on boss in between. Cleric best team heal. Don't worry to much about the debuff, the bishops are worse.

6. Asoteric Runewolf: This boss shouts, keep a close eye on that. When he says SLASH you better be far away, because he does a AoE that 1-hits all. After the slash run back to continue killing. He slows with his attack. It is wise for the venomancer to use soul degeneration so that the boss will not regenerate his HP while the squad is running.

7. Messenger of Fear: Does AoE sleep and damage. Cleric team heal.

Level 85+: After you killed this boss the NPC Yi Lam appears. Talk to him and he will teleport you near next boss. If you are below level 85 you need to walk.

8. Oceania Master: Stands in a big room filled with mobs. Kill all mobs before hitting the boss. Let the barb or herc tank the boss. Do not use AoE. Don't hit the minion that spawns next to the boss, telling you to try hit him. Ignore this minion, don't AoE it too... If you hit the minion he does a severe AoE killing most people in your squad. Kill all hands asap, before they clap cause they kill almost everyone if they clap. Best put archer and/or BM on killing hands.

Level 85+: After you kill this boss the NPC Celestial Sister appears, talk to her. Hit as many of the Frozen Heads you can, they give EXP, and afterwards the NPC gives you a second quest item 'Sincerity'.

9. Decaying Fragrance: This one does the axe debuff like one of the last bosses in FB 69. Barb has to tank it (or Blademaster). AoE stuns.

10. Asotheric Runephoenix: Shoot him, run to lower him so all can hit him. He AoE seals and does damage, drains life. Just DD, cleric team heals. It is wise for the Venomancer to use soul degeneration when amplify damage is on cooldown because this boss has a great HP regeneration rate. After the phoenix dies, you need to destroy the remains Blazing Phoenix Soul too.

11. Holeen: Lure the Holeen Body. After he's dead Holeen Champion of Fientazzar spawns. The big one random aggros, seals, AoEs and buffs himself at around 30% of his HP. Cleric team heals (usually: Regeneration Aura) and the venomancer should purge.

Level 85+: Talk to the NPC Frost Elder. For the Sincerity and Faithfulness he'll give you a Chest of Faith containing a random gift: Perfect Stones, Chest of Coins, Flawless Shards, Scarlet Fruit, (Mirage Celestone, Auspicious Ring: Order, Unicorn Spirit Ring: Order)

Feel free to add in anything I might have missed or what might have changed.

Lol this guide is kind of outdated.. First of all, FC is no longer a farming instance.. Holeen no longer drop mats.. Bosses are pretty much the same however..

That's why I posted, bosses haven't changed from what I can tell.

Also you shouldn't do Holeen unless you want to do the quest... the random aggro is a *****.

Additional FC guide

Squad of 6:
* 1 Sin is required to stealth pass mobs and open the gate.. Also, do a small pull around bishop boss so barb (tanker) can freely tank the boss without having to worry about mobs chasing him.
Sin is also needed for BP.. Less chance for tank to die and easier job on healer to heal the tank..

* 1 tank/puller is required to do a large mob pulls.. I recall there are 3 big ones and several medium ones before doors.. Barb is preferred to be the tank since Barb has high speed and can outrun most mobs.. Barb takes little to no dmg during pulls so don't worry about him dying (unless the barb really sucks).. If Barb is nowhere to be found, BM/Seeker has to do this job.. More risk on BM/Seeker since they run slower than Barb and have less HP..

* 1 healer is required.. Depends on the squad, most squads would definitely take a Cleric as a healer in FC.. Mystic can substitute for Cleric if Cleric is nowhere to be found.. From my experience, I won't say that Cleric is a complete safe solo healer and at certain bosses, Mystic is a better healer.. First of all, bosses like bubble boss and the boss right before big room will cast sleep on you.. Bubble boss will do the BM style stun as well.. In this case, Vital Herb + Healing Herb will continue healing, provides that they don't die.. So, you can continue healing while you getting slept.. Cleric usually stuck on Chromo animation (remember, you can't BB at all at boss since all bosses interrupt).. For all pulls, you can safely BB.. Sometimes, a squad doesn't want a Mystic if they already have a Cleric..

* 1 BM.. Well, from my experience people will always get a BM for HF, extra defense buff or for whatever reason.. Maybe BM can be a second tank if for some reason Barb/tank is dead..

* 2 AoE DDs (Veno included).. Usually, people will prefer a Seeker for this.. Seeker has more HP compared to the casters, can receive BP and less chance to die.. If there's no Seeker, they will take either a Wiz, Archer, Psy, or Veno.. AoE DDs are needed to kill the pulls faster.. Range DD is also responsible to kill hands in Oceania (boss in big room)..

**It takes around 45 mins - 1 hr for an average lvl 90+ squad to complete..
**Sleep debuff is a long time debuff.. It usually goes for 5 seconds+ so be very careful..
**Squishy needs a minimum of 3k HP buffed to survive Oceania Master.. It hits from some random damage.. So far, I recorded 1.9k dmg and 2.3k dmg taken under Black Voodoo.. Both ticks my charm automatically.. I currently have 3.3k hp clean (4.2k hp with lvl 10 barb buff and 4.5k hp with lvl 11 barb buff).. Do not hit the mini boss cause if you do, it will deal a 5k+ AoE melee damage.. Had this happened once in my squad.. Almost killing the 6k hp Sin and 8k HP BM and myself with 4.5k hp, dead instantly..
