| I was wondering if anyone plays or has played Magic. It's a card game that's been around since the early 90's. I used to play and my husband still does, he never stops talking about his newest deck, lol. I still have my old decks, among my favorites are my green elf deck and my blue/black decking deck. ;o | |

| Yep I used to play Magic the Gathering about five or six years ago. I still have my two decks, a white "weenie" deck, and a red/green monster/burn deck. I think i stopped playing after the urza destiny edition. | |

| Lol, I think the kithkin look boring... white has always been boring to me. I play a lot of blue and black... I have this sexy deck that's designed to make my opponents run out of deck to play with... I think it's amazingly fun. =] | |

| Oooh Dragons, sounds sexy. I haven't been playing much, they changed the rules and it just doesn't seem the same as it used to. =\ | |

| Yeah, they got rid of mana burn, and made it so that combat damage no longer goes on the stack. I still can't believe they did that... They said they did it to make it less complicated for new players, but seriously I never thought the stack was all that complex of a concept... besides, it's still around for the rest of the game, so why only take it away from combat? | |

| Chris started out playing Pokemon CCG and when I met him, he had moved onto Yu-gi-oh, which sadly I played with him... and then I moved him towards MTG since it was more mature and not based on some show made for children/teens. | |

| Yes, I still play Magic almost every day with some of my coworkers. The box I take my cards in can fit 8 decks, so I have to alternate them a bit, as I have around 20 decks. The 8 I'm using right now are:
-White/Green beatdown control with, essentially, 8 Loxodon Warhammers for lifegain and ridiculous power.
-Blue Ninjas. This one's my classic Kamigawa, still one of my best, decent control and minor beatdown.
-Blue/Green Simic. The best of my old Ravnica Guilds. Crazy +1/+1's. My personal record was a single 1024/1024 creature with flying, trample, and that couldn't be the target of my opponents spells or abilities.
-Bombshell. This deck is based on the Bronze Bombshell, forcing my opponent to take control of it with Spawn Broker. The deck can also draw well over 20 cards a turn. I choose to discard them and return them to the deck so I can cycle the Bombshells and Brokers for reuse. Almost all Ravnica block, I think.
-Blue/Red/Green Draw. Uses Niv-Mizzet The Firemind and Mindmoil to cycle crazy amounts of cards and deal tons of damage with the izzet. Lots of draw power and some nice beatsticks for good measure.
-Fungus. Saprolings. Lots of them. I choose to make fewer than some fungus decks but focus on making the saps bigger with Muraganda Petroglyphs.
-Merfolk. Lorwyn Tribal. My merfolk rely on beatdown via islandwalk or Deppchannel Mentors unblockable. Silvergill Douser + Merfolk Thaumaturgist = instant kill combo. Islandwalking Wanderwine Prophets = win.
-White/Red/Green Naya. Alara block standard. personal favorites are Retaliator Griffin and Marasi's Twinclaws. Uses Mayael's Aria for crazy big creatures. Combo the Aria with Ajani Goldmane's third ability for epic win.
-Zuberas. Kamigawa again. 5 colors, focuses on getting them in and counting on my opponent trying to take them out one at a time. Once I have enough play Devouring Greed. Between the Greed and the many stacked abilities is one hit kill more often than not.
-Poison Counter. Uses Virulent Sliver and Shadow Sliver to get the counters across easily. Snake Cult Initiation for extra counters, on Dimir Infiltrator even. Lots of defenders to hold back my opponent while they contract the disease. Hive Stone for a nice finishing blow.
-Blue/Green Control/Beatdown. The control aspect is in regards to my own deck via much scry and the Magus of The Future. Uses Centaur Omenreader to get creatures off the top quick. Icy Manipulator for minor control or making sure the Omenreader's tapped.
Think that's about it for my favorites.... | |
