APQ (Amoria Party Quest) Guide Empty
PostSubject: APQ (Amoria Party Quest) Guide   APQ (Amoria Party Quest) Guide EmptyFri Jul 10, 2009 11:04 am

First you need a party of 6 people who are married and level 40+

Keep in mind that the boss does about 1200-1300 damage, so make sure
that you have someone with that much HP and if possible experienced if
they're a low level (under 70, usually). You will need someone to kill
the boss, usually a level 100+ bowman, warrior, or hermit can kill,
higher leveled chars mean faster boss and less chance of someone dying
or D/Cing.

Once you have your party, most people want to cc because the lag of ch
1 might cause some people to D/C, so you cc to the ch the leader
chooses and all enter and once everyone is inside, the leader goes
in... in case of D/C or lagging problem leader is last. Some people
double APQ which will be explained later which can cause lag and they
might need to restart maple or their computer.

First Stage:

There's three portals at the time, only one of them leads down and it's
random every time. Once you are down in the middle, there's two
teleports: one on each side, they are on the rocks. The left side is
the female side and only female characters can enter and the right side
is the male side and only male characters can enter. Once you and your
party are down there, you need to kill all the monsters and then the
leader clicks on the NPC to summon a giant Fierry that you must kill
and loot the drop which is a hammer. Bring the hammer up to the middle
and either give it to the leader or place it on the mirror in the
middle and it will break the mirror, dropping a broken mirror piece
which the leader needs to clear the stage.

Second Stage:

There are three ropes in this stage, the object is to put 5 people (leader needs to be on bottom clicking) on the ropes in the right combination. The picture below is the cheat sheet I use and has never failed me.

Second Stage Picture:
APQ (Amoria Party Quest) Guide Apqguide
(Picture stolen off www.honourguild.com, unsure of whose it is though)

Stage Three:

There's four platforms on top and five on the bottom, the same object as stage two, you need to get the right combination of people on the right platforms. Most people have all people on the bottom since there's five people and the bottom has five platforms. When the leader clicks, monsters appear, you need to count the number of slimes which tells you how many platforms are correct. Usually the person on the leftmost platform moves after you do the initial click they then move to the top leftmost and click on each platform on top, counting the slimes each time.

Stage Four:

The leader needs 50 drops from monsters to clear this stage, so usually all party members except the leader kill the monsters and collect 10 drops each.

Stage Five:

Monster chase you to the right, keep running right because at the end of the monsters there's a Rombot which does 10k damage which would kill most characters. When all people are at the rightmost of the map, the leader clicks the NPC to clear.

Stage Six (Boss):

Once all people are in the stage, the leader clicks the NPC to teleport you into the stage and you start out fighting Jr Balrog which once you kill it transforms into Crimson Balrog and then finally Geist Balrog. The boss does about 1200-1300 damage in one hit and it dispels and moves around a lot. It has 3mil HP I believe. Low level and low HP chars should hide in the leftmost corner so they don't die. You need all 6 people in the map to clear, so if someone D/Cs you are screwed. If someone dies, tell them not to leave party and you can usually still clear. If the party is 3 males and 3 females however you need all 6 people alive to clear. Once it's dead the leader picks up the drop, have a thief haste the party for bonus and the leader clicks the npc to clear and take you to bonus. If however the party was 3 males and 3 females all characters have to click the NPC to be taken to another map and from that map the leader clicks to enter the bonus stage.

Stage Seven (Bonus):

Bonus is 60 seconds, I believe. In that time all party members open boxes to get items, the most common reason people APQ is for Onyx Apples which give 100 weapon attack. Since bonus is so time limited it's rare that everyone gets Onyx Apples, so the standard method of making sure it's as fair as possible is that you can only loot items which comes from the boxes that you have opened yourself.

That's Amoria Party Quest.

How to Lead APQ
__________________________________

Preliminary
  • All 6 characters must be present in all stages (minus bonus) to move to the next stage.
  • If anyone leaves the party at any time (including bonus), all members are booted to the exit stage.
  • The leader clicks on Amos the Strong at the entrance to enter stage 1.
Stage 1
  • The leader clicks on Amos the Strong to open the portals.
  • The leader clicks on Glimmer Man when all monsters are defeated.
  • Anyone presents the Wing Hammer to the big mirror (drop it).
  • The leader clicks on Glimmer Man with the Broken Mirror Piece.
Stage 2
  • The leader clicks on Amos the Strong. The other 5 members must be on ropes.
  • "Same" means there is one rope with the correct number of people.
  • "Different" means there are no ropes with the correct number of people.
  • You have 7 tries - currently the combination does not reset after the 7 tries.
  • Refer to this thread if you would like practice with or have questions with figuring out the combination.
  • Refer to the image in the original post in this thread if you would like to use a cheat sheet.
Stage 3
  • The leader clicks on Amos the Strong. 5 members must be on platforms (labeled A 2 B 3 C 6 D 9 5). The leader may sit on one of the platforms for it to count.
  • The platforms are placed as follows:
    A 2 B 3
    C 6 D 9 5
  • Most people normally have all people on the bottom 5 platforms to begin; the player on platform C moves along a clockwise motion from C to A to 2 to B to 3.
  • The number of slimes that appear signifies the number of players on correct platforms.
  • With 9 platforms and 5 people, there can only be 3 different combination of slimes:
      a) 12222
      b) 22333
      c) 33344
**44445 also exists; however you would clear it during testing and this combination is irrelevant.
  • Knowing this, you only need to test the first 4 platforms in the clockwise motion (C A 2 B) and you will automatically know the last.
  • Place players on the upper platforms (C A 2 B 3) with the larger number of slimes (in case c you would place them on the platforms with 4 slimes).
  • Rotate the remaining players along the bottom 4 untested platforms (6 D 9 5) until the correct combination is found.
  • For case b, if the bottom rotation results in 3 slimes, then the bottom players are on the wrong platforms (e.g. 9 5) and the remaining platforms on the bottom (e.g. 6 D) are correct. There is no such method for the other 2 cases as the rotations will always generate 4 slimes.
Stage 4
  • The leader must present 50 Codes to Amos the Strong.
  • There are 6 players - the leader generally sits whilst the remaining 5 players collect 10 each.
Stage 5
  • All must run to the right and hit doors.
  • The leader must click on Amos the Strong at the end to clear.
  • All must click on Amos the Strong to proceed.
Stage 6 (Boss)
  • The leader must click on Amos the Strong to enter the boss stage.
  • Jumping players count as non-present players and Amos will not let you proceed if there are people jumping.
  • The leader must click on Amos the Strong after obtaining the Balrog Fang from the boss. Do NOT click End Chat in this dialogue, as it will result in Amos taking the Fang and not allowing the party to proceed to the bonus.
  • If the party consists of 3 males and 3 females, Amos will send players individually to the Couples stage. In this case, all members must click on Amos to proceed. Otherwise, Amos will send all characters to the Bonus room.
Stage 7 (Couples)
  • If the party consists of 3 couples, the party will engage in the couples room activity.
  • The leader talks to Amos the Strong.
  • The male in each couple (including the leader, if applicable) talks to Amos the Strong to proceed to a lower level in the stage. Both members in the couple are warped to the small jump quest.
  • Both members collect the 35 Codes that are hidden in boxes in their respective lower levels in the map.
  • Note that there are hidden warps in the map that may require you to jump and/or run.
  • There is a warp at the top to return to Amos.
  • Either player must present all 35 Codes to Amos to earn a reward. Only the player that presents the Codes will receive the reward - his/her spouse will get nothing.
  • After completion, the party leader talks to Amos the Strong to proceed to the bonus stage.
Stage 7 (Non-Couples)
  • The party leader clicks on Amos the Strong to proceed to the bonus stage.
  • All 6 members must be present to proceed; Amos' option to ditch the other members does not work.
Stage 8 (Bonus)
  • The party leader does not have to do anything here. Anyone and everyone can disconnect if he/she wishes.

Really? It's only ever happened once but iirc Amos wouldn't let me click until everyone was on same map. Though no one's ever d/c'ed at this map while I lead so that might be different.
